Just focused purely on creating value for our customers. We don’t have any other agenda. We are not making money through trading electricity through buying, or building, power plants. It’s really all about creating a retail business in this space. And all of our competitors primarily are either involved in generation or involved in wholesale trading. And we are really just focused purely on creating value for our customers.
“Customer base” – Title
I mean our customers are commercial and industrial consumers, or entities, that use significant amounts of electricity, and have, and are in markets where they really have to manage the volatility around electricity prices. So they’re in deregulated markets, they use significant amounts of electricity and have real issues to manage that.
“Putting money to work” – Title
It’s nice to be in a space where most people we talk to are really looking to put more money to work and we think we have a unique platform here because most of the money that’s gone into the space is, we talked about earlier, is focused on alternative energy and technology and…
“Focus on customer” – Title
We’re really sort of a low-tech position. We really focus on customers and meeting customer needs and then we’ll let the technology and the alternative investments play out and create other opportunities for us.
“Making a difference” – Title
You know the values are clear. We really are trying to make a difference. We see an obvious need to address climate change. We also think there’s an obvious need to create more value for customers that are looking to manage a very volatile commodity. But the values really go to the heart of the culture, the kinds of people we want to attract, the level of trust and our view of people as all being able to make contributions.
“Flat organization” – Title
Nobody has titles on their cards. We don’t try to pigeonhole people into certain areas and responsibilities. We keep the organization very flat and it’s a culture we think we can thrive in.
