Customer side of the table
“What we mean by ‘being on the customer’s side of the table’” – Title
As a corporation we’re solely focused on our clients, we don’t have a big trading floor, we don’t own assets we’re not a regulated utility. Our number one job is to be there for our clients to help them manage their electricity and their climate change issues for them. And we wanted, we didn’t see anybody that was really sitting on the client side of the table and that was one of the things, one of the driving principles behind juice.
“A trusted advisor” – Title
It’s not a core competency of most organizations: understanding climate change markets, understanding the electricity markets. And they need someone, they needed a trusted advisor that can both create strategy for them as well as go into the markets and implement those strategies. And if you can do that in a very transparent and competent way, then you’ve solved an issue, a need, for clients that just hasn’t been done yet.
“Transparency in the market place” – Title
There’s a real lack of transparency in the marketplace and there are, quite honestly, companies out there that make a lot of money because there’s lack of information, lack of transparency and they want to take advantage of that imbalance of information for as long as they possibly can. And we just see that as a tide that’s eventually going to change in the industry. It’s happened in all the other major sort of market-based industries. Information eventually wins the day.
“Client value” – Title
We’re really collapsing several models that are out there and putting more value in the hands of the clients by taking advantage of opportunities and risks that are out there in the marketplace that just, again, others are profiting from that today and not necessarily allowing the client to benefit – and we’re changing that.
