Juice Teams up with Manhattan School St. Hilda's and St. Hughes
New York, NY (September 4, 2007) – Juice Energy, Inc. -- a New York-based electricity supplier with a “green streak” -- has teamed up with Manhattan school St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s to provide renewable energy solutions.
With the help of Juice, St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s, a K-8 school located on the upper west side in Manhattan, has effectively reduced their carbon footprint with the purchase of Renewable Energy Credits equal to their annual electricity consumption. REC’s are created when electricity is generated from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass.
According to Juice CEO Jon Moore, “it’s great that New Yorkers are taking matters into their own hands. We really enjoy working with clients like St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s who take the initiative in limiting their own carbon footprint rather than waiting for the city to impose carbon regulations.”
Virginia Connor, the head of the school added that, "At St. Hilda's and St. Hugh's, environmental sustainability is part of our mission. From the food we consume to the activities in our classrooms, we dedicate considerable time and energy to teaching our students to be responsible environmental stewards. It is a natural extension of this commitment to collaborate with Juice in reducing our contribution to global climate change."
This new partnership comes on the heels of Juice helping to make Montauk Public School on Long Island green.
