Is it easy being green?

“Is it easy being green?” – Title

When you’re talking about environment, energy is always somewhere in the equation.  But it wasn’t really until the last few years where climate change, and carbon and meeting green goals became such an important part of the business world, the organization world.

“Environment and business” – Title

People are overwhelmingly concerned about the issue of climate change.  Each new poll that comes out shows that more and more Americans think it’s a reality and think that the effects are evident now.  And they are demanding change from corporate America.

“Emissions” – Title

What is it?  A third of the greenhouse gas emissions in the United States are emitted as a result of electricity generation.  To me that’s completely unnecessary.

“Energy as an environmental problem” – Title

I worked with communities in Alaska on their environmental problems.  And one of the things I heard over and over and over again, is that energy is a major environmental problem.  In graduate school, that was something that I focused on: looking at energy, and climate change and solutions to climate change via changing how we consume energy.

“Energy as an environmental solution” – Title

As the U.S. began to deregulate, I realized that the best way for an economy to integrate new technologies into businesses was to do it through the private sector, not through public programs necessarily.  So, I decided that I needed to be part of a company that would help to usher in new technologies: renewable energy, energy conservation…

Juice has a vision of doing something that’s environmentally friendly and creating some value for companies and the environment at the same time, which I think is very important in this day in age.
