Kenneth D. Brody, Chairman
Kenneth is a co-founder of Taconic Capital Advisors L.P., a multi-strategy event driven hedge fund, founded in 1999. Taconic currently manages approximately $10 billion and has offices in New York and London.
Mr. Brody served as President and Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States from 1993 to early 1996. He spent 20 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1971 to 1991, where he was a general partner and member of the management committee. He currently serves as chair of the investment committee for the University of Maryland and is a member of the investment advisory board for the Lockheed Martin Pension Plan. He formerly served on the Boards of Directors of Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, Alex Brown Incorporated, Federal Realty Investment Trust, and Telerate Incorporated. Mr. Brody is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mr. Brody received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with high honors from the University of Maryland in 1964 and an M.B.A. with high distinction from Harvard Business School in 1971, where he was a Baker Scholar. He served as an officer in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Captain.
Jonathan S. Moore, Co-founder
Like his colleagues at Juice, Jon has spent his career shaping the energy business. He was most recently Chief Operating Officer of Constellation NewEnergy and has been active in the retail electricity market since he helped negotiate AES’ purchase of NewEnergy Ventures in 1999. In 2002, Moore co-led the sale of AES NewEnergy to Constellation Energy Group. Prior to the purchase of NewEnergy, he was based in Singapore and served as part of AES senior team responsible for business development in South Asia. From 1988 to 1994 Moore was a transactional attorney with O’Melveny & Myers in Washington, DC. He earned an A.B. from Princeton University and a J.D. from The Yale Law School, where he was an Articles Editor of The Yale Law Journal.
Brian Hayduk, Co-founder
Brian has over 12 years of energy and environmental experience and has been involved with all aspects of electricity deregulation since 1997. He was a Senior Vice President with Constellation NewEnergy and a member of their executive management team. Prior to Constellation NewEnergy, Hayduk worked as a consultant, managing economic and environmental analysis for federal clients. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Lehigh University and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, at Syracuse.
Deirdre Lord, Co-founder
Deirdre has spent her professional career working in the energy and the environmental fields. She has been involved in all aspects of electricity deregulation since markets opened in 1997. As Managing Director/Senior Vice President of Constellation NewEnergy and a member of their executive management team, she was responsible for the New York, New Jersey and Mid Atlantic regions. Prior to her work with Constellation NewEnergy, Deirdre developed and implemented energy conservation projects in developing countries. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in English and Environmental Studies from University of Vermont and has a Master’s Degree in Energy and Environmental Policy from the University of Delaware.
Aaron Thomas, Executive Vice President
Prior to joining Juice Energy, Mr. Thomas was the Chief Commercial Officer of Constellation NewEnergy. He was responsible for its regional businesses across the U.S. and Canada and a member of the company’s executive leadership team. Mr. Thomas’s ten years of experience in the energy industry began with NewEnergy Ventures in 1997 as Director of Government Relations. From 1999 to 2001, following the acquisition of NewEnergy Ventures by the AES Corporation, Mr. Thomas served in a variety of roles for both the generation and retail energy businesses of the AES Corporation. In 2001, Mr. Thomas was promoted to Vice President responsible for developing and operating the West businesses of AES NewEnergy, now Constellation NewEnergy. Prior to joining NewEnergy Ventures, he served as legislative staff to Senator Bill Leonard, member of the California State Legislature’s Utilities, Energy, and Communications Committee. Mr. Thomas holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Riverside.
